Default Uploading axl files from desktop?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new 8700c with Cingular and am trying to install some third party software (.alx files) via the Desktop Manager. It doesn't seem to recognize the files. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

You have to have alx and cod files in same folder

What - EXACTLY - are you trying to do. Alx files are part of the answer. What application are you trying to load.

(ALX - not axl...)

To load any third party apps on your BB through your computer you need xyzsoftware.alx and xyzsoftware.cod. Put them in the same folder somewhere you can remember. I have a dedicated Blackberry 3rd party app folder where I store these. Then Open desktop manager, run application loader. When your list of software installed comes up click on "add." Browse to the xyzsoftware.alx file in the folder. It will then load the software (if there is an associated .cod.) The .alx file only tells the Desktop Manager what .cod file to load. No .cod, no app on your BB.
