Default Getting BES on wifi

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BES 4.1 running and i want to be able to make it talk to my bb devices through wifi. The catch is i want the BES not to have internet access... will this setup work and if so are there install guides avail to do this? I searched and searched and nothing came up. I want BES to be able to push apps etc through wifi to the devices. Thanks

If Penguin will permit me, he is correct the BES must connect to the RIM Operations Center (ROC), keeping it completely off the internet is not possible.

That said it is an out bound connection (from the BES to the ROC), encrypted and may be proxied. My BPS sits behind two NAT firewalls, one corporate, one departmental, and is not accessible from outside our department LAN except form an activated Blackberry. If your aim is to push apps through Wi-Fi rather than Rogers to keep the costs down, the Blackberry-ROC-BES complex is very good at using Wi-Fi, USB/LAN, etc access to avoid consuming wireless data when possible. But there is no way to be sure that application push will happen when a device is connected via Wi-Fi. You can probably do things that will improve the chances.

A BES without a connection to the ROC (and therefore the Internet) is pretty much a paper weight, or a space heater, depending on your hardware.
