On. I live in a mountainous region and drive (and bike and hike) in and out of coverage all the time. I like to know when I'm connected and can make or receive a call or email.

i keep it on, mostly bcuz i use BB alerts and i like to use the "rainbow" light for my coverage indicator

I had it for a while, then it got annoying. My LED only flashes upon receiving messages.
