I manage a BES 4.1. One of my user's handhelds has the "Decryption Failure. Please regenerate key." failure.

How resolve this without doing a wipe and running Enterprise Activation?

Just generate a new encryption key.
On user's machine open Desktop Manager, go to e-mail settings then go to security or advance it depends on the version, there change the settings to generate keys manually, click apply and generate a new key, apply change it back to automatic, apply and is all set

You can regenerate the encryption keys from the device.

Go to:
Options > Security Options > General Settings

Scroll down to Services:
Highlight the Desktop [SRP] service.
Click menu button and choose 'Regenerate Encryption Key'

I have seen the need for a reboot after regenerating the key on the device

Excellent! Thank you all! It's too late for this user -- I already did the wipe/activate -- but hopefully I'll remember this for the next one . . .
