Default Complete n00b Question - Managing contacts via computer?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,
This is my first BB device and I'm wondering how I can easily manage my contacts via a computer. For my older phone, there was freeware called BitPim that I was able to use. It was really clunky, but it got the job done. Is there any kind of software (preferably free) that will help me manage my contacts? Could I create a Microsoft Outlook contacts file and import/export it to the phone? I'm basically just looking for ideas from experts here while I try to grasp this whole thing. Thanks!

You should be able to import your Outlook contacts when you synchronize your Berry via Desktop Manager.

I was thinking of using outlook. I am basically starting with nothing though other than the contacts list that was transferred over from my last phone, and needs a lot of work. Can I export that to a blank outlook, fiddle with the contacts there, then bring it back in to the phone? Thanks

Yes you can do this.

Just create a new outlook profile, sync it to your blackberry and then make your changes and sync it back.

Hi Everyone,
Since I really don't know what I'm doing, how do you export/import your contacts with Outlook? In Outlook, I see that I can create a new .pst file, but I'm not sure how to make the phone talk to it, etc via the Desktop Manager....thanks!
