Does anyone know what the difference between 1xev and 1XEV on the storm is?

I would think it's like any other CDMA device - 1xev means you can make phone calls, but no data (email, internet, etc).

I thought 1x meant you can make phone calls and receive texts, but no data. I've seen my phone use all 3 at some point, 1XEV, 1xev, and 1x.

I as well was under the impression that 1x meant no data
I'm not sure what the middle grounds are with them being capital (1XEV 1X) or with them being lowercase (1xev 1x)

Are you sure? My 8330 has always had 1xev on it and I use my browser and text message sending all the time, every day. Could it mean something else with Alltel?

If you call Verizon Tech Support because you are not getting DATA, the first thing they ask you is " Are the letters All Caps or All Lowercase?" Atleast that was my experience. I lost all Data for some reason and the letters were all lowercase. After he fixed whatever was wrong, all the letters were caps again.

1X is data and cell service at a slower data rate. 1XEV is broadband data speeds and cell service. 1xev is cell service with no data.

1x = phone + data, no 3G
1XEV = phone + data 3G
1xev = phone, no data.
