Because there are dozens of threads that state "you can't remove the branding".

It can be done, just not using tools that are readily available.

Forum management made a decision some time ago that we were not going to support the use (or spread) of these tools, and the intellectual property behind them is the property of RIM and was leaked out. Possible illegally.

There are lots of other forums that take other points of view.
