Hi,

I have a user who currently has a Palm Treo 650, which has to be replaced with something newer. He is thinking of getting a BB Curve or Pearl... but I am not sure it will work with our existing infrastructure.

He has a Vista Business SP1 64-bit desktop, which is a member of an Active Directory domain, and has a roaming profile with most of the profile folders setup for 'Folder Redirection' (Desktop, My Documents, etc.), and the majority of them are excluded from roaming. He uses Outlook 2007 SP1 with a POP3 account (we do not use Exchange) and hopes the following data in his PST (hosted locally, as recommended by MS) will sync over USB on a BlackBerry device:

- Outlook Calendar
- Outlook Contacts sync
- Outlook Notes

Currently he does not need his mail or anything else synchronized OTA.

So, my questions are:
1- Is the latest BB desktop software certified for Vista x64 (user does not run as administrator, so software MUST be able to run/sync while logged in as a limited user 'LUA' account)
2- Will the above things sync?
3- Any issues I should expect with the software running in the context of the above scenario?

1. Their are users running x64 Bit machines that are synching, So it is possible

2. Outlook 2007 will sync with Desktop Manager 4.3+ (You should stick with something closer to 4.7)

3. You may run into issues with the initial install as Vista x64/Desktop Manager sometimes don't play well, but after the setup and sync is configured you should be fine.

Thanks SteveO. Re #1. above, just to clarify, you know for a fact it works whith users that are not "Administrators" on their own PC?

That I can not clarify by fact. Sorry. (The running without Admin rights part)

(One would hope it's possible and I would assume it's possible.. One way to find out I would try run a test/lab setting first.)
