You can change the wallpaper -- is that what you mean?

If you have a picture you want to use as wallpaper, find it in Media > pictures, use the menu key and choose Set as Home screen Image.

You might want to read the Help info on your Bold because it has all the basic how-to's like this.

not for the home screen, for the menu screen. I saw a picture of a menu screen where someone had the background like a field of flowers, how did they do that?

If you change the homescreen background it will change the application screen as well.

If you want to change only the app screen background you will need to create your own theme to do it.

It depends on the theme you are using.

For example if you use any of the theme's from my site the wallpaper Will change on the app screen: Dylan's FREE Blackberry Themes

Just the regular came with the phone themes.
these obviously wont make the app screen change.
and so the OP i assume is using the standard ones too, and so I was confused as to you saying they would change.

I did make a few themes (with in my opinion a poor program, wondering if plazmic 4.7 is any better) and did notice changing the screen in the theme, and then loading, and setting home screen would change app screen too...of course not the call screens.

why do they make it so hard to customise? lol

Does anyone read a post before replying? really Chillin is the only person who actually knew what the heck he was talking about.. daphne even scolded you to RTFM..... hahahah... Bad BB moderator I digress sorry

Now when you say menu the first thing I think of is the context menu that you get in applications when you hit the BlackBerry button. But from reading what you asked I don't think thats what you mean. I believe you are talking about the Application List with all the icons that you get to from the Home Screen after hitting the BlackBerry button.. I'm assuming so....

It does all depend on your theme you have applied. I have ones that create a standard black or faux leather background for the applications list that is faded behind all my icons. When I go to the home screen it will be the wallpaper I selected or the one the theme set. Other themes take the home screen wallpaper and use it for the wallpaper of the application list screen.

Try looking for a theme called MyU link -> Blackberry 9000 Bold Theme : myU

The download link is at the very bottom of the page hard to find and you will need to install with desktop manager. But this allows me to keep my set wallpaper for both screens both the Home Screen and the Application List. also gives you a ton of icons on the home screen which is nice but still shows your wallpaper.

As for setting home screen to one and the applications list to another that is not possible natively is the OS and might require a 3rd party application.

Can you have your own wallpaper with that theme or are you forced to use that leathery blackberry wallpaper?

You are not forced to use their wallpaper you can set your own wall paper and it will be on the home screen and the application list screen.

you need to install desktop manager on your machine (PC side only) the link I gave you before should have a alx file. you will need to connect your BB to your PC and use the desktop manager to open the alx file and it will load it onto the BB. If you need more instructions there are lot of posts that explain how to install software using desktop manager.

After its installed if you go to options then themes it will show up in the list.

sorry update (should have read the article first) it cant work for alx files. You will need to find and Over The Air (OTA) link to it. Some one might have it on the net. Just means that you can download it using your BB browser.

You can change the call screen with Plazmic as well.

oh i know, but unlike when you make a theme and change the screens, and once on your phone you change the home screen wallpaper and the app screen also shows that wallpaper, it doesnt change on the call screens.
