Default Folder Redirection in Desktop Manager

Please Login to Remove!

Background: Connected to BES. Have an 8310. Utilizing Lotus for email. Have tried Desktop manager clients 4.7 and 5.0 with the same problem.

I heavily utilize email rules like a lot of people -- so I don't have much actual mail to him my "inbox." The easy solution (so says the internet) is to open up Desktop Manager, Click email settings, enable the checkbox for "Selected Folders", and finally click the "Choose Folders..." button.

My problem:
When I click the "Choose Folders..." button, nothing happens. This is such a stupid problem to have, but for the life of me I can't figure out whats going on. As I said, I started on version 4.7 and now am at 5.0 with the same problem.

Seems like a client problem for sure, just not sure where to go to troubleshoot.

Any ideas?

After some further investigation using a file monitoring utility, when I click the Choose Folders button, DesktopMgr.exe goes go out and hit various directories in lotus\notes\data\ even further pushing my theory toward a client side problem.

0.00005364 DesktopMgr.exe:5488 CLOSE C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data\mail5\<myname>.nsf SUCCESS
0.00001006 DesktopMgr.exe:5488 CLOSE C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data\ SUCCESS
0.00000866 DesktopMgr.exe:5488 QUERY INFORMATION C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data\names.nsf SUCCESS Length: 26214400

I'm running notes 8.5, however my corporation said it is a supported version. It looks however as if desktop manager pulls your mail folders from your local design settings - which rules out connectivity issues.

Frustrating. Perhaps I'll downgrade notes if nothing else comes of it.

You can do this on the BB as well:

In Messages, access the menu.
Choose Options.
Choose Email Settings.
Access the menu and choose Folder Redirection.
You might need to expand your mailbox. Check the folders that you want redirected.
