Default Help - sync outlook calendar takes forever

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone, just hoping to see if I'm doing something wrong or its just the way this thing works.
1. We don't have BES
2. We use the desktop software to sync outlook contacts and calendar.
3. its our comp policy not to delete (or archive) any old calendar entries. So everybody who has been working here for over 2 years will have 8000+ items in their calendar.

So everytime when you plug in your BB, it will do its thing and scan through the 8000+ calendar items, which take 20-30 minutes. Even if we choose "sync future items only" or "sync the next 30 days only", it will scan through the whole calendar inventory.

Is that how its supposed to be? is there a way to sync calendar without it having to scan EVERYTHING?

thanks.
