Question Blackberry 8900 - o2 or orange

Please Login to Remove!

Hi blackberry forums, I have had a look at the FAQs and searched but cannot seem to find information on this topic. Basically I have been with o2 for a number of years but have been offered a better deal with orange which I am pretty sure I want to take. The only thing crossing my mind is, how do the handsets differ from o2 to orange? I know that orange sometimes brand their handsets and sometimes have their own software?

Could anyone shed any light on this? Any advice on this (or being a new blackberry owner) would be very much appreciated!

No.
The only thing different on a BB between carriers is the logo on the phone.
Everything you get thats "branded" i.e. specific wap browser, bookmarks; are dealt with by service books from the carrier.
the OS for the blackberry is NOT carrier specific.

Both 8900 from O2 and Orange are exactly the same.
Except! that I believe on Orange you will be able to use UMA, (orange is the only uk carrier that offers UMA)

Thanks for the quick reply Midnightdraven,

So if anything, orange would maybe be better? Could you tell me what UMA is? Sorry, I am new to blackberry's!

Erm, im not sure what is stands for, but it allows you to connect via wi-fi and use wi-fi to make calls.
you may need to investigate with Orange as to whether they require an extra monthly payment to use it, or whether it comes out of your minutes.
its really a benefit when you have low signal in your house.

But yes, Orange would be the better deal for you.
