Hi all, my first post so hopefully I don't ask silly questions

This thread concerns the configuration options for Blackberry Handheld users and Exchange 2007 systems. We currently don't have BES but I will be setting this up in a few months. However, we have users that want to connect their BB Handhelds to our Exchange 207 system in the meantime.

As far as I can tell the simplest BIS configuration is for them to configure access to our OWA. However, we use Forms Based Authentication for OWA so they would always have to logon which I think they would find irritating.

Are their other options for using BIS to connect to an Exchange 2007 environment, like using POP3 or IMAP? If so, can you pont me to the handheld configuration instructions.

I have POP3, IMAP and Activesync configured and working into our environment so anything is possible using these methods, I just need advice as to which is the least complicated for end users and also which would provide them with the most useful features.

Not true.
Once the user successfully integrates their OWA account into BIS, they never need to authenticate again. Email simply pushes on its own.

Yes, but don't use them. OWA is much tighter integration and offers more features to the end user.

Per Penguin OWA is the way to go. But setting up BIS to access Exchange via POP or IMAP is like setting up any other account. Just follow the prompts (omit the password if you want to see more options).
