Exclamation Bluetooth with new Tour

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a Blackberry Tour, brought it home and paired the device with the INTEGRATED bluetooth in my 2005 Lexus GX. The two successfully paired, and all phone contacts were transferred and show in the car. A call can not be placed or received, however, and picked up by the bluetooth. I have checked everything. The technology is enabled. My previous phone, a Palm Treo, worked beautifully in the car. I have removed the found device and repeated the pairing process. When I get in the car and turn it on, the screen shows that it has found the phone and all is well. When the phone rings, however, it does NOT come across the speakers in the phone and you can not transfer it to the bluetooth. Additionally, there is a loud beeping (buzzing) sound when you first start the car. I am about to give up and return the phone. Any ideas?

Open "Manage Connections" and turn on bluetooth. Under "Bluetooth Options you should see a list of all devices paired with your BlackBerry. Click on your Lexus and choose "Device Properties" from the drop-down menu and make sure that "Trusted" is set to Yes.

My Tour pairs with the wife's Infiniti truck, as does her iPhone (I know, I know!). Each car's bluetooth system is different and there can be multiple levels of integration depending on what mobile device you're using. You might need to call Lexus and get some advice from them.

Yes, take it the lexus dealership and have them sort it out for you.
