Is there anyone that us using a basic smartphone internet plan on their tmo blackberry??
When I got my 9700 they told me I couldn't get it cuz it wouldn't work on the 9700, and that my only option was the $34.99 blackberry plan

Is this real or just a scam to get me to get the blackberry Internet plan

The real question is will they sell it without a BB data plan? And in the case of ATT, ATT does a monthly IMEI sweep and if they detect an IMEI with the wrong plan, i.e. a BB on a generic data plan and not a BB plan, they supposedly will change it over to the proper plan. Don't think TMO is doing that ....... yet.

So if I could get a generic data plan but i couldnt use the blackberry browser but would the preinstalled apps like facebook work??

If it is a RIM application, you'll need the blackberry data plan to use it.
