9630 + Bluetooth + Windows 7 = FAIL

Ok, lets talk about this here....
BB Desktop, Bluetooth DUN, and Sync worked FINE in Vista 64 bit, but in Windows 7 not so much.
Have tried reinstalling old drivers, running compatibility mode, etc etc etc. Nothing works.
Now...although I don't seem to have run across this problem on this forum, it seems to be pretty common based on numerous detailed web searches (for most common bberry models)...but nobody seems to have yet to find a solution to the problem outside of either using google calendar sync or actually tethering.
Anyone here having the same problem? Anyone find the answer?
So far RIM says its a Microsoft problem, and Microsoft says its a RIM problem from what I have gathered.
TIA
Edit: Allow me to ellaborate on the problem a bit more....The bluetooth stack self installs through Windows 7. It WILL recognize the bberry and link to it without issue. It is the actual syncing feature that is flawed from what I can gather. The sync screen goes grey, and will often partially sync before freezing up the bberry desktop software. Also, in VISTA the bluetooth connection was terminated upon closing the bberry desktop software. In Win 7 the phone stays connected until manually disconnected. Its either the bberry desktop, bluetooth stack, or a little of both (I personally think both).
What I dont understand is why something works in VISTA and not in win 7 when the drivers are supposedly the same (unless Microsoft decided to override vendor specific drivers for one unified version).
