Is anything required outside BES environment to get GPS data?

Greetings All,
I am working on a specification for a dispatch system in which we plan to provide the dispatchers with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) on their screens.
We have the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and I am wondering if we can simply enable GPS somewhere in the configuration to have it start recording where the BlackBerry devices are.
From what I can tell, the lat/long data would be stored in the SyncLBS table.
Do I need any special software running on the BlackBerry device to have it send back the GPS location? Or is this all built into the BES infrastructure?
If it is all included, I would like to flip on the GPS tracking so that I can prototype the screens with actual GPS data.
Can someone kindly comment on this?
Thank you!!
Paul
