Blackberry 8900 or 9700?
Please Login to Remove!
I am completely new to Blackberry's, but I've pretty much caved in a decided to get one.
I am planning to get it on Orange with the Dolphin contract, but I am stuck between getting the Curve 8900 or the Bold 9700.
I prefer the look of the 8900, despite the trackball which I'm assuming is soon-to-be extinct, but the 9700 is the better phone overall, despite the hideous leather back.
What do you think I should get between those two?

Oh and another question.
The tariff I'm planning on getting is Orange Dolphin, which is £20 per month for unlimited texts, unlimited internet and 300 minutes. Do things like BB Messenger come included in the plan, because it does say unlimited internet?
Because I've heard you have to pay extra for Blackberry stuff, particularly Blackberry Messenger.

I am not that familiar with plans on Orange, but there are several on here who are. Have patience as I am sure they can answer your questions.
However, you need the BB data plan (BB bolt on?) rather than the generic data plan. The BB data plan is required for connection to all RIM related services to include email, BBM, Facebook, BB Browser, BB App World, etc. Look at our FAQ for the article "What do I need a dataplan for?"
As for the device, I would go with the one that fits your wants and needs since you are the one using it. However, IMHO, I'd go with the 9700 as it is the newer of the two.

If you go onto the Orange website, and select a Blackberry as the phone you want, it will then show you the plans that have Blackberry data included.

The plan I want on the Orange site says "Dolphin 25 - 24 months, unlimited texts, 300 anytime minutes, internet, email".
But it still doesn't make it clear whether that includes BB extras like Messenger.

Why not pickup the telephone and call them. I'm sure they will make it alot clearer than their webpage.

devnull, that would depend who you get on the other end.
UberNick, yes, that plan includes BB features.
