Deleting call logs

I decided to erase all my call logs. I did the usual "messages>view folder>phone call logs>delete all" routine and it cleared them from that folder, but when I press the "Send" (green phone button) key, all my calls are still listed. I have to delete them individually to get rid of them. Why is that ?
