Default If there is a shutdown ...

If there is a shutdown due to an injunction -- of any sort for any time -- or BB users are forced to change their software to use a "workaround", I suspect there will be some people disgruntled or unpleased this turn of events. If it is less than what it was, people won't be happy (I won't, I know).

But what alternatives do we have ? I read that the Treo is becoming more popular but they don't seem to be able to touch the on-demand status of the blackberry. Who wants to program times to check your email during the day?

I have a two-year old BB model and I am planning to get a new service provider and a new phone here in the next few month ... I love my blackberry but I was a loyal palm user before I combined all my units into one.

But what else is there ?

There is an entire forum entitled Rim Stock/Legal. Perhaps you could look there for the many, many threads.

There is actually quite a few BB type devices out there now. Most look almost exactly like the BB, except for a few more buttons or whatever. But a few I can think of are the Motorola Q, Nokia something I forget, HP something, and a few more that I can't remember right now.

Funny -- I had this strange feeling this topic was under-represented in the Rumor Mill ... little did I know it had its OWN forum! I feel like the guy looking for his glasses with them hung around his neck. Sigh.

I wonder if Mac will come out with one ...

Thanks for the answers. Will browse elsewhere ...
