Exclamation Just upgraded to Tmo BB or new contract? Please read

Please Login to Remove!

If you just upgraded to a BB (first time BB user) or signed up with Tmobile...did you have any trouble setting up BIS on the Tmo website or on the handheld? Yes or No?

I upgraded to a BB (started out as 7105t and just exchanged it for 8700) 2 weeks ago after being with Tmo for 4 yrs. The problem is, I have not been able to setup BIS on my account. Everytime I go to Communication Tools-Email on mytmobile.com and click on Setup BIS it just loops me back to the Tmobile.com front page. I have been calling Tmo PDA support and they said this is a global issue and they are working on correcting the problem. They won't give me an ETA except - "give it another 48hrs". I get the same result if I try to set it up from the handheld - a message comes up saying "We apologize there was an error accessing the service. Please try again".

Just curious if anyone else here at BBForums is experiencing the same before I call Tmo again. It's been frustrating and I'm hoping to get it resolved or I have no other choice but to cancel.

Thanks!

I have a friend who received her 8700g on Friday (new customer) and setup her BIS account in a couple of minutes with no problems.

I'm by no means a pro at this, but I am assuming that you have purchased a data plan and not just a wireless plan?

Good luck, I know this must be frustrating!

This problem was covered in a previous thread. There is a work around. Thought they fixed it.

Thanks for the replies.

The last post on that thread is the instruction given to me by Tmo but it just loops me back to the Tmo homepage. It's amazing how long they've had this problem.

BBUser7100t: Yes, I have the 19.99 BB add-on on the grandfathered voiceplan when I upgraded.

I registered a new account (ugraded voice plan to include BB8700g) and all went fine. IS this the link that you wnet to? I started from there with my cell number. It is not the same as Cingular (well today is the first time I get to use teh T Mo BB feature).

Yes, I tried logging to my.t-mobile.com or even straight from t-mobile.com both gives me the same result. Hmmm...I think I'm screwed.

I just tried the instructions from my post in the other thread and I was able to get into my BIS.

Try to clear out your cache (temp internet files) and access tmobile again

nsbalt - it's definitely not a browser issue as I've tried it on at least 5 different computers and the same thing happens. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I did call tmo again last night and the rep I spoke with seems to know whats going on but could not provide a solution. This apparently started happening when they rolled out the "new" my.t-mobile.com. Only some customers are affected by this bug and I am, unfortunately is one of them. He said they are working on a solution but could not give an ETA.

The BB 8700 is really nice and if I waited a few weeks to get this I think I can wait a little more for tmo to fix the issue.

Have had the same issue, but despite the error box, just go ahead and click on the left side regarding changing address etc. For me it puts me back into the right page to setup or change email addresses, go figure.
