Default AT&T natural voice to ringtones?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I have searched for the last hour for help on this with no luck. AT&T has a website where you can type in a message and they will convert it to a wav. file and then you can save it. I am trying to get them to my 8700 so I can save them to a particular caller such as "your wife is calling" ring tone. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this?

I went out to lucky's site but can only save adp. files.. I thnk i did this conversion with audacity months ago but cannot seem to figure it out this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try This Link with your. 8700 if you have one of the later versions of the OS. No conversion required, it will save Wav files. But change the filename (not the extension) to something you can read before you save it. Hope this helps. Rcbjr

I use them all the time.

-Save the AT&T files as .wav files.
-Convert the files to .mp3 (I use DB Power Amp for this.)
-Upload the file to your BB using one of the various web upload sites.

lgreenberg,
What is the reason for converting the file? I just uploaded the .wav and it worked fine. (Perhaps MP3s are smaller?)
Thanks.

You can get about a 15:1 compression rate by converting it to mp3, depending on the bit rate and sample rate you save as. Obviously this would have very little impact on the 8700 model handhelds, unless you are a ringtone/theme/application-aholic and packrat.

Size and I think at first the 8700 couldn't use .wav files as ringtones right?

Size is a good answer. I think that I had upgraded to Bharti by the time I used the AT&T voice Text-to-voice generator so I'm not sure about the 8700 ever not using .wav files. I actually thought .wav was the default Blackberry format with MP3s a new addition on the 8700.

I thought the use of .wav files was only made possible from Bharti on which would be why I used Mp3 files initially on my 8700.
