OK so heres my situation, some of you may have seen this before, i have been searching and idk, everything looks the same and not many posts seems to be applying so if the answer is in another post just point me in that direction.

I have a 7290 i just bought off ebay, it has no internet service for some reasons. I was wondering if there was a way to download stuff like ringtones or themes through the usb connection. I heard that you cant yet... I just want to personalize it any ideas? Is there a way to trick the application loader into thinking the ringtones or themes are applications? OR is there a ringtone maker that can be placed on the phone??? THat would be the best!

Well, I used the "Search This Forum" function for "using USB" and found this thread New Ringtones Without A Data Plan!. It will explain how you can do both ringtones and pictures without a data plan. But I think it is more trouble than its worth.

Wow thanx man, I should have used those key words i used like everything else... But why is it more trouble than its worth?

Because it takes a lot of effort to make the transfer from what I have heard. I don't need that method, but I suppose if you really need to put pictures and ringtones on your BB without a data plan, then you'll suffer through it.

It seems hard but im going to try it. What does it mean to have a data plan? If it has a data plan for this type of transfer does that means itw as made to do this? or am i just babbling lol

To get internet services, which you say you don't have for some reasons you need a Blackberry Data Plan associated with your cellular account. Without that plan, you can't do much with the BB except use the Phone, SMS and the limited PIM functions. I suggest you read the FAQ sticky posted at the General Discussion Forum.

ok thanx, im going to have to get a plan then...but i still have at&t so idk....i think ill wait till my family goes to cingular, and then have to figure out how to get the phone to work with it or buy a new BB cause i just got this one used cheap on ebay.

Ok thats not working for me. Does anyone know of a ringtone composer that can go on the BB?
