Based on BG's experience, I now think I'll hold off. Plus, after just buying a chrome PEBL (just because), I really need to get a grip on my phone spending anyway. The one other thing about the Pearl that I was looking forward to, was (from what I hear) it being "My 5/My Faves" ready. But, I'm staying well within my minutes on both lines now, so that's not that much of an issue.

thanks for info metalsiren.. so that hspda or unts service.. is that gona be included in your service like the $29 BIS plan or will we have to pay Cingular extra to access the higher speeds along with tethering?..

when you "tether".. is that bluetoothed to your laptop and im guessing your using minutes off the phones plan? or just data off an exisitng data plan?

plus the new samsung that coming out supposedly (according to engadgetmobil) whats a better phone? 8100 or the samsung i600?

Isn't Sprint charging extra for the option of tethering with the Treo? Someone is, I just can't remember who. I know Verizon charges more for using their highspeed EV-DO network with the 700w Treo. Something like $40 extra per month. It's a disturbing trend.

I pay $44.99 a month for unlimited data, and if I want to tether my BB, they charge an extra $15 a month for that. Verizon is way overpriced compared to the other carriers.

Kwang,

Tethering doesn't take away from your minutes. It only impacts your data usage. So you better have an unlimited data plan if you are planning to tether.

I believe sprint does charge extra for their tethering, I was looking into that the other day.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all Blackberries uses USB when you tether.

I am not sure how Cingular plans work since I have T-mobile.

Hey, this is Blackberry forum! Of course people going to choose Blackberry 8100 over the Samsung i600.

Also I don't know much about Samsung i600. I don't even know how it looks like. I am getting the 8100 within weeks after it's release.

Kwang, as secrecyguy stated, this is a Blackberry forum; it is not a "comparison" forum. I would suggest you google (or use whatever is your favorite search engine) the Samsung and do some research on it so you can make a valid comparison.
