Every so often BB Maps seems to stop navigating. If I turn the selector wheel on my 7100i it updates but then stops updating again. It appears that it is navigating in the background but not updating the screen. Has anyone had this problem?

Yep....it's a flaw with BBMaps. That's why I went ahead and got Telenav because BBMaps won't auto scroll the directions.

Same reason I got Wayfinder Navigator. I still use BB maps, and Google maps also.

I use TeleNav to navigate. It seems to do a pretty good job. The voice quality is awful. I liked MapQuest Navigator but it randomly stopped navigating. I uninstalled it. I hope they put out version 5 of TeleNav for the BB 7100i.
