Default Pearl and BES

I have the new Pearl, but can't assign it to a user as a device. BES does not detect the device. Any help?

What version BES? You will either need to update the copy of Device.xml on your BES or you will need to update BES to 4.1.2. I believe that's the only two course of actions, especially if you're at 4.1 already. If you are on 4.0, one of the later service packs may have added support for it, but essentially it's just an update of the Device.xml.

You should be able to do a wireless activation, though, right? Or even activate it using DM and a USB cable.

Yes and yes, but there are some "issues" otherwise, such as assignment, statistics, etc.

Thanks for the help. I tried a patch and got the Pearl to be recognized. I was able to assign the device to a user. However, I get data connection refused. Also how can I get the user's autocomplete email addresses over to the new Pearl from his old Blackberry?

Does the new device have a new SIM card - sounds like it's not provisioned correctly on the BES tariff..

Ah that's the value in using Desktop Manager 4.2 which has a switch device wizzard which enables stuff like that to come accross. AFAIK personalisation like auto-completes etc, aren't transferred in a standard devcie swap, but the wizzard adds extra stuff to the 'items to be transferred list'

Default Didn't Work

Well so far my Pearl does not have any of the autocomplete email information despite using the desktop software. I transferred everything it gave me the option of transferring, and there's no change. And my data connection is still refused.
