Got off the phone with T-mobile ten minutes ago and they confirmed that there is a data outage for this area and they expect it to be back up in the next three hours. Posted just in case anyone else has the same issue.

Atlanta, Warner Robbins, Cumming, etc. have had maintenance work for the last few days. There was a 'Global Outage' of BlackBerry services for T-Mobile for their Western market (West of the Mississippi) the day before yesterday, and they were trying to act like that was what was causing my problems. My company is situated next door to PowerTel's former HQs (before they moved to Atlanta and sold to T-Mobile), so we have a nice tower in our parking lot (literally). One side of the tower had sporadic or complete outage for BlackBerry and data services; the other side, where our other office is just around the corner, was not affected. Really odd. Other area businesses also had issues. I had to 'threaten' just to get someone to listen (and I'm far from being aggressive, so I hate when I have to raise my tone).

...anyhow, after being told it'd take 72 hours to possibly weeks to resolve (hah), I finally got it resolved sometime yesterday. It was an issue with that tower, although I'm still awaiting official word.

We didn't have any outages over in the Norcross area. (Musta got lucky.)
A long time back when I had my MDA, I had EDGE drop out. I called T-Mobile and they had to "re-sync" me with the tower. (Or so they say.) Anyway, it started working after they did "something."

All good here. (though I realize this is a tad old)

No EDGE outage here last night or yet this AM.

Jibi, slightly off topic, didn't PowerTel sell first to Voicestream, then TMO. I recall because I first had PowerTel service years ago, have never changed service because the original package they sold me 10 years ago is so good I could never get it again. Anyway, my office is located less than 50 yards behind a local TMO retail store here, where they have an array of antennae for signal boost in their store, so I get great coverage around my office as well. If I could only say the same for my home.

I live in Michigan too and had very slow speeds. Not a complete outage, but very slow web browsing.
