I'm new to Blackberry. I just got a brand new 8703e through Sprint for free. No activation and free 2nd day shipping. I have the unlimited data plan also. So to start off I want a gps application but noticed that Telenav is 10/mth. Is there a free one? Also I have seen something about 4.2 what is it? What does it do? Next what are the first thing's I need/should get. Also is there an app that I can use chat like all in one with yahoo/aol/icq?

4.2 is the latest OS update for 8700 BB's as you have an 8703 it wont do you any good as they CDMA version hasnt been released. You cag get BBmaps or Google maps that work nicely though not via GPS. loot at the top of the forums there is a sticky for lots of great software most free or low cost also look for stinsonsdogs tips the are AWESOME
