Default 4gb micro card storage prompt?

Please Login to Remove!

got one from verizon ($99.99)....
loaded it, haven't done anything with it yet. I note each time I hook berry to my computer I get a prompt asking..."DO you want to turn on mass storage mode? You might not be able to access some media files in this mode"

what is that, (what does that mean specifically?)and should I do it? What media files could possible not be accessed?

I have mass storage mode enabled. You won't be able to access the media card from the BlackBerry while it is connected via USB, but you have access from the PC.

Right now--is there ANY media card in the BlackBerry?
Look at Options > Advanced > Media Card. What does it say at Total Space at the bottom?

doesn't list a media card under advanced options. Should it be listed?

now I see the media card after answering yes!
and when I click on it, says the media card is not available because mass storage mode is currently in use.

Here the big question...what the hey is mass storage mode, and why do I want it enabled. Yes its clear, I don't have a clue what I am doing, but thats why I'm here, so appreciate all the help to my lame brain (wink)

Mass Storage mode enables the ability of your Media Card to be seen by your PC as another hard drive or memory device on your PC (when it is plugged into the USB connection to your PC. With it enabled, you can simply drap and drop files or music or pictures from your PC over to the Media Card.

cool, get it now...(looking forward to trying that)
when BB is not connected to the computer do I need to disable the mass storage for bb to function full capacity as stand alone?

In other words should I be toggling this function back and forth each time I hook up, or only when I plan on dragging and dropping stuff?

no need to toggle it on/off, just leave it on. You will be able to access all the media card that way from the PC and the BB.
