Default why so many bugs with this model?

Please Login to Remove!

I have the 8300 with t-mobile using the new o2 OS

It just seems to have allot of bugs, from what im reading and experiencing. So far its deleted any folders that ive had including my options icon that was in the folder, it seems to turn off the wireless on its own sometime and i havent experienced this yet but i hear it will delete texts and emails on its own.

I LOVE the curve but what is going on?

I have none of the above problems after about a month of usage.

I clicked on this thread out of curiosity...because I am having no issues with my Curve whatsoever. In fact, it is so much more stable than any other smartphone I have ever used that I am almost paranoid...waiting for something bad to happen.

So far...no bugs.

I would consider returning the phone if it is freaking out so badly.

If you read around a bit on the forum you'll discover that some of these are not "bugs", they are "features". And apparently we have to adapt to these devices and assume that the geniuses at BB knew what they were doing.

Having said that, I love my new Curve and just think some of this is interesting.

Earlier Curves did have some restarting issues, along with static, and some build quality issues. So far I have none of the above on my new Curve!

Hopefully it stays that way, double knock on wood!

After six weeks without a problem, my Curve has started acting strange.

First it deleted all my e-mail except those in the saved folder. I rang AT+T and eventually someone told me to make sure I had lots of device memory, so I deleted some of the files (still can't get rid of PTT; I've read the stuff on this forum, but I have no idea WHERE on my Curve to type in that java delete command!), and it hasn't done it since.

However, it has now started turning itself off and rebooting, especially if I'm surfing the web. Extremely annoying.

You have to do it from a PC

I was so enthused about the 8300 that I could not wait for the US release so I bought one from O2 in the UK. I got it unlocked and I'm using it on AT&T. It's been bug free, totally reliable, fast and fun.

That said I then bought an 8300 from Cingular the moment they were released. Same experience, excellent build quality, no bugs, great reliability and stability. However I do prefer the O2 version of the OS, therefore I wiped mine of the Cingular OS and reloaded it with O2 and it works perfectly. Now I have a backup should something happen to of them. Not that one needs it with the proven BB performance (it's just my desire for extra peace of mind).

So my only point is that based on your description it's just software issues as you may have something that is corrupted. I'm thinking that if its wiped clean and one starts over reloading the OS of your choice (my suggestion is O2) then you will be just fine.

I've experience all of the above.. but I still love the curve. All we need is a very stable OS and it should fix all these problems.
