Exclamation How safe is the password keeper?

Please Login to Remove!

Is the password keeper included in the OS4 really safe?
Could a malicious application send out all the passwords?

Bye,

I can't figure out what exactly it does and what passwords you would put in it.

Any password, especially internet passwords.
I suppose they are stored in encrypted form, but another application may be able to read them when I access the password keeper.
Not that I've installed anything special on my BB, only the usual stuff: BBWeather, BBLight, BerryPix, a couple of java games, but who knows?
Since the device has full http support, it could also be infected by java scripts.

I would advise you looking into a free application called MiniSafe. I'm pretty sure you can find a thread talking about it in the Aftermarket Software section. It's a great database that stores all pertinent password information and encrypts the data for protection. Here's the link to the thread.

Hope this helps.
