I purchased an 8803 from someone; I'd like to know if it's possible to remove her AOL address and Blackberry address from showing on my phone. I don't know if it's possible to return a Blackbery to its factory default.
It's not that it's a problem, but I occasionally get email for the previous owner. What should I do? Any suggestions?
You need to contact the owner and ask them to disable their BIS account. You can try calling to carrier and asking them to release the PIN and IMEI to you.
You can delete the serive books but they will come back after a battery pull. You can wipe the device to remove everything on it but you won't be able to set up your email until the device is release by the carrier.
To wipe (And everything will be gone and you can't get it back)
I followed the wiping instructions and it worked like a charm. I was a little bit worried that my Yahoo and Blackberry email accounts would be wiped out as well, but after I logged into Verizon's network, my own email accounts (and not the previous owner's) was as before. So, all is well. Unfortunately, I'll have to rebuild my address book. But, overall, it was well worth it to wipe it clean, because it provided me an opportunity to personalize my Blackberry to my own preferences.
