Default Help! Where to set number of emails to download from Exchange?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm running BES xpress on an SBS 2003 machine w/ exchange.

Everything works great, but only 1 week of emails downloaded from the users exchange account.

Previously (before a wipe) the client had ~1300 messages via OWA.

Where/How do I extend the amount of emails stored on the BB?

P.S. the user has plenty of memory available.

In the Inbox, Go to Options | General Options | Keep Messages....Mine is set to forever.

On the BES Manager for Provisioning: Open BES Manager, Click on Server Name | Click the Server Config Tab | click the Messaging button | Check the "Prepopulation By Message Age and Message Count" function.

You want to change the amount of email the HH pulls down during an Enterprise Activation? ....

like this - Not all email messages are received on the BlackBerry device after the enterprise activation process

If for storage of emails on device, use this:

In the Inbox, Go to Options | General Options | Keep Messages....Mine is set to forever.

If you need to adjust messages being populated for the device: Use This:

On the BES Manager for Provisioning: Open BES Manager, Click on Server Name | Click the Server Config Tab | click the Messaging button | Check the "Prepopulation By Message Age and Message Count" function.

If I am not mistaken, if you are using BES 4.1 SP4, I believe the rate has been increased....

What version are you using?

I found this post while searching...I have BES version 4.1.4.15 and I have set Population by message Age and Count to 5/200 and it doesnt seem to be working. I have messages from Jan 22nd-Feb. 20th (84 emails) on my pearl...does something have to be restarted or a policy forced for the changes to take effect?

Thanks,
Matt

It will only sync up to 5 days OR 200 messages ... whichever it hits first.

You need to restart the Dispatcher service for this to take effect.

Thanks for the guidance but I still seem to have the problem...

I had to reboot the server due to a backup client installation so after making the 5/200 change I did so. This morning (roughly 24 hours later) I still have messages dating back to Jan. 22nd on my Pearl. Will the BES sync up and remove the older messages from the phone or are they stuck there because of being there previously?
