Default PIN messages

I understand with some BB models that PIN messages appear in red but on my 8703e they look identical to regular emails. I have tried looking in Options with no luck and I have also checked Help and the User Guide. Is it possible that this option is not available on the 8703e? I would like to be able to distinguish between PIN messages and emails without having to open them.

Its been awhile since I have had a 8703 so I am not certain but i think it may be theme related as well.

I dont get very many PIN messages so not 100 percent sure.

Thanks JSanders. I do have PIN messages set as Level 1. I am not sure what you mean when you say to "set the Alerts for Level 1 in your Profiles". Sorry....

Now I am really starting to feel stupid. There is no 'advanced' option under Profiles. Only Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal (Active), Phone Only and Off. I have my Profile set at Normal and for Level 1 Messages the options when I try to change it are all related to the sound/vibration of the notification, not the appearance of it in my messages. Sigh...

Scroll all the way down and you should see advanced options. That's in OS 4.2. I think it was a little different in 4.1 but I forgot all ready. I think you had to click the trackwheel again while in profiles to see advanced options, then select it.

Thanks for your imput, alas to no avail. I have to stay on an older operating system for business purposes and there just does not seem to be 'advanced options' in my o/s. It seems that I will have to make do with having my PIN messages all jumbled up with my emails. I guess things could be worse.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

Level 1 message headers are bold on older OS's. At least that was my observation. As I recall, the switch to red came with 4.2.

I'm on 4.2 and my pin messages have never been red, regardless of theme.

Your PIN Messages have to be set at level 1 to get the red. The options were mentioned above.

The key here is "level 1"

Your persistance that PINs have to be set to level 1 is great...but mine have always been set to level one, I have always had that set.

While I was using OS 4.1 and OS 4.2 there has been no way to distinguish a level 1 PIN, from a regular email in the messages folder other than the notification sound when it comes in. It just has always been that way on my 8700g.
