Default Desktop Redirector no outlook option

Please Login to Remove!

Been reading a bunch of threads on this and am pretty fed up with spending my nights reinstalling desktop manager..

Blackberry 8800
non BES at home using Vista 64bit
Redirector v 4.3 Internet Redirector - got directly from RIM site
Outlook 2007

For some reason after installation when I go to synch options outlook isn't there. ASCII and others but no outlook.

My outlook is configured for my gmail account...

Any reason why it doesn't show up on the list.. have tried reinstalling multiple times still no luck.

for the love of !@#!@ this problem is resolved by running the installer 'run as administrator" and seems to only happen in vista.

Why run Redirector? Why not get your email via BIS? Much easier than having to mess with redirector and keep your PC up and running 24/7 just get gmail.

I've been fighting with this synching problem for 2 months since I went to Windows Vista Home and Office 2007. Today was ready to switch to iphone after spending 5 hrs on the phone with Blackberry yesterday. MS Outlook wouldn't show up in the applications to synch with no matter what we tried.

In researching the iphone, however, I discovered that people have had a similar problem. One fix for the iphone seemed worth trying.....there is an impression that recurring appointments and/or recurring tasks in Outlook 2007 are the hitch. I then deleted all of mine....both tasks and birthdays, et al in Outlook.

I uninstalled the v4.3 of Desktop Mgr for my 8800 and re-installed the 4.2 version that came on the CD with my Blackberry last September. Rebooted and hoped for the best.

The software installed, I plugged in the Blackberry and it worked just fine - synchs perfectly. I may try resetting recurring appts, but now I'm just happy the blasted thing works.
