I have been testing BES running on a VM and things have been great. I would like to move this to production which isn't a problem since its a VM just move the file, etc...

That being said, in anticipation of problems and the fact that it was a test, i named the "server" (computer name) around the word test. Moving it to production I need to change that name.

What ramifications will I run into changing the computer name? What SQL MSDE issues will i run into?

Since it's just been one user, myself, that has been in the testing phase. Would it be a big deal to just "start over?" New "server", new MSDE, etc..???

If it VM then copy it and change the name on the copy.
Worst case is using the old name or starting fresh.

May have to edit sql name to refleck the change in manager.
Lookup post on MSDE to SQL they have where to change it there.

Careful, you might run into a cache issue, and may need to do a wipe.
