Default BlackBerry Maps

So I was originally not happy about the fact the AT&T 8310 didn't come with the free BB Maps. I donwloaded Google Maps and got what I needed. Reading on the BBFAQ page I found a way to get the BB Maps but it involved editing and so on and so forth. I didn't feel comfortable doing this. While messing around on mobile.blackberry.com I found a link to download BB maps. It again told me that this would not work on an AT&T model. But alas, I bought my model from right here on BBF from a user who sold it unlocked. So I installed and lo and behold it works.

Moral of the story?

If your lazy like me and have AT&T Curve unlocked, go to mobile.blackberry.com and download BB Maps. It worked for me!

What version of the OS are you running? I have OS 4.5.0.46 and it is not letting me download BB Maps. I know there are other maps out there, but what I liked most about BB Maps was the MPH indicator. I have not seen that on other maps.

That makes sense. Looks like AT&T does not want us to use BB Maps in OS 4.5

It didn't have it on mine either and had to do a work around when I used it for a little bit with 4.2. Att hasn't released 4.5 yet so can't say they don't want us to use it.
