I picked up a 4GB for $13 shipped on eBay and I thought that was a good deal. Too bad I didn't find this thread earlier.

just got a SanDisk 8GB MicroSD card Class two off ebay user progressing0114.
$24.26 shipped!!!
However, after playing around with the card, as soon as I put over 770megs on the card, my blackberry won't read it! Keep getting a Disk Error, please run Disk Error fix, corrupted data etc etc.
Possible fake card? Seems to work fine on the comp. Haven't test to see how much I can load on yet. Just be cautious for now.

I think a card will never hold the full 8 Gigs (or whatever capacity they are). My 8 Gig card says total space 7.4 GB. Check yours in Options > Media Card on the device.
I just got an 8 Gig Class 4 Kingston card at Fry's, the store, for $29.99.

Just an update, yes mine was 7.4gig. I managed to fill the whole card up. Looks like its good. The problem I was having was my phone itself. I'm still on 4.2, so I had to format the card down to 4gb (3.39gb to be exact).
Strange how some can run the 8gb without formatting, it just won't save past 4.

Daphne is correct with the specs but if you format the card on a PC using FAT, we were able to use the entire 8gb on a 4.2 8310 os.

Memory Card Sizes
All apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I keep seeing references to 16GB cards only being supported for 4.5.0.81 and above. I can tell you that a VZW 8330 running 4.5.0.77 reads 14.8GB as free/available on a clean 16GB Sandisk card. I have not loaded any music yet, so there may be other limitations.

Reading 14.8 out of 16 GB it probably correct you will never see the fill 16 GB on the Card. Although losing a whole gig is a little.....

You lose .6 GB on an 8 GB card, so 1.2 GB on a 16 GB card seems normal, unfortunately. I have a 16 GB card on 4.5.0.97 on my Pearl and also show 14.8 "Total Space" after formatting by the Pearl.

In case you missed it, you can find 16 GB cards on ebay (w/free shipping) for mid-$60s after applying a 10% off coupon that ebay is pushing (regular price mid-$70s).

I've never figured that one out. Why does the formatting take more space on a bigger card? Seems like it should take the same amount of space regardless of card size. But, yeah, it's normal.

Buy.com is a great site to find cheap memory (price wise) but they always make up the savings buy charging astronomical shipping charges.
