Ive tried syncing with google calendar or lotus organiser
always the BB is considered as having zero entries so the sync goes wrong and I get duplicates every time. not a sync.

RIM should fix this, I think its a major fault, how can I tell them? will they listen to little 'ol me?

Do you have this problem with your 8300?

I thought it was specific to the 8830.

Talked to RIM today, still no fix, the other post says maybe Friday a fix will be out.

They may not listen to just you, but if everyone calls in and talks to Blackberry support that has this problem, they may be more inclined to fix it quicker.

I talked with a Blackberry support tech today and he said they know about it and are working on a fix. He was non-committal about a date. How in-the-loop this guy was I don't know. He did think it would be soon and told me to watch the software update page.

Verizon just added Desktop Software to their download page. Don't know if this is the same version that is on our CD that came with the phone. It's 360MB and I'm downloading it now, but won't be able to install it for a couple of hours as I have to leave.

Fingers are crossed, but I'm not holding my breath.

Just got off the phone with RIM. I am having the issue with my Cingular/AT&T 8300, and the guy on the phone told me that they have been aware of the issue for a few weeks because of the 8830/Verizon phone. He had no advice for me other than to wait until the new code is released. What troubles me is that RIM has not been able to resolve this for some time. I thought this was just a Cingular/AT&T 8300 issue. Reverting back to my PEARL until this gets resolved.

The new desktop software download is what came on the CD. Guess they are just finally catching up. :(

After thinking about it more it will most likely be an update to the phone software, not the desktop software.

Default Update to DM did not solve sync issue

I was able to update the desktop manager using the install CD. there is an option to check the internet for updates. I am now using Version 4.2.2.14 [April 26, 2007].

Still having the same issue when I sync... it did not seem to make a difference.

I guess we are waiting on RIM

Here is a link to a Blackberry Technical Support knowledgebase article about the problem.

Calendar entries created on the device will not synchronize to the email client when performing a wired synchronization

Says it was modified today, but doesn't say when it was posted. It wasn't there a week or so ago when I searched for the problem.

Here is their current solution:
Creating new entries in the email client might prevent this issue from occurring. Duplicate entries can still appear on the BlackBerry device.

Umm. Yeah. But what's the point of having calendar input capabilities on the BB if you have to enter everything at your desktop/laptop.

I have no duplicates, just no updates since initial synch.

I had the same problem. under calender options menu - it said I had Zero entries- even though my calender was full. I sent my service books again as I read here, or there, and it resolved the calender sync issue- and I use a MacBook!!!

this worked for me as well

since i've updated to .180, when i synced my bb, calendar is now all screwed up. all day events did not show up as all day events in outlook 2003. it displayed as 24 hours, 1am-12mid, etc. so now i have double entries in both bb and outlook calendar. how can i fix?

This is a different problem than the Verizon folks I think - many folks are having it with 8320 upgrades, I figured out one way to smack things around and get my calendar back into shape. Start with this post, as someone else having the problem followed my instructions and it worked for them, too:
