.217 seems more stable for me than what .216 did, so if .217 works for you, stay with it. The annoying bug that your home screen resets after any reboot persists...hopefully that is corrected soon, unless there is some type of fix I missed, very annoying tho.

you know, other then some memory reports, i havent really read/heard anything that is leaps and bounds better or drastically improved over 190, and I havent had any serious issues with 190. so I may have to sit still on this for now. IMO it seems like I am hearing more bugs with this. I have had an occasional uncaught.exception msg, but that was easily corrected.
should I look more into .217?? or maybe wait it out longer for a possible actual surface of 224? any advice/suggestions??

Make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.

i got some help and upgraded from .190 to .216 yesterday. i continue seeing some wi-fi instability at the house (airlink n) but it's been steady on a firm visitor lan here at the office (not sure what wifi routers they use here). not enough time to be sure but i "think" i perceive the battery is going down slower with .216. will be interested to learn others' observations

And it is common that a device on a BES must be reactivated on the server.
So, it sounds like you're doing just right with it.

I am on BES and as Sanders said it is not unusual to need to be reactivated on the server. With my bold, I needed to be reactivated on the server for .167, but with .162, .185 and .190 it reinitialized and reactivated over the air without having the IT guys reactivate on the server. Go figure. However, if you are on BES, I would not upgrade the OS without knowing the IT people are available just in case you need to reactivate on the server.
I am upgrading to .216 now so I will see how this one goes.

I downgraded from the .217 to .214, I find the .214 more stable and less buggy, is this .216 much better than the .214 firmware? If it is then I'll change but if not I'll stick with the .214.

REFRESH GPS: you have to push the Blackberry Button (just to the left of the trackball) to see it. Then click on it. Doing so did not work for me, by the way.

On mine, it says "Device GPS" where yours says "None" across next to GPS Device Source.

Upgraded to OS .216 from .185 yesterday. Everything went smoothly. Been using it for 24 hrs now and no problem is suspected yet. New improvement is in the options such as APN etc.
Battery live is still great and the memory increases about 10 MB.
Hope this review is usefull.
Good luck
