Well my carrier said that because my phone was originally bought as an MTN product it may have something to do with it affecting my blackberry internet service. Apparently have to ask MTN to release an APN block for my bis to work on the vodacom network. Tried and an MTN official thought I was talking rubbish. Googled this problem and seems its worldwide and affecting all 9300 3g models Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
I have a bb torch 9810 (which I bought because of the fast download speeds - or so I thought). I am also ok Vodacom and the first week I had this phone it was downloading at sometimes 500kb/s. Now it downloads at about 15kb/s, and even pauses during the download for a while.. If you have any info on how and why this happens, pls post. Thanks Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
Hmm I'm kinda having the exact same problem I have a 9300 and I'm in western cape on vodacom sa and my 3g signal is strong ... For the past 4 to 5 days the highest speed I get is 6kb/s and I was told to try it at 2 in the morning it would be faster I did that and still thee highest is 6kb/s I do not have a clue what's wrong , I've phoned thee customer care like 5 times already and they keep telling me the same thing which is really frustrating ... And the phone is not even a month old yet thee first two weekks it worked perfect now it's going bonkers ... Any suggestions ? Plus I'm going to check up tomorrow and see what I can do ... I have a 9300 and not have this problem.. A friend of mine does well and he hates me for it. On mp 3's I get 160-180kbs almost anywhere in RSA where there is 3G reception. Avg on a 30mb avi file is 120 odd. Dl in like 10min.. I even one got a 240kbs round 3 in the morning. Fastest episode of supernatural of 60mb I've ever dl'd.. For reasons that they might stop it I won't say which carrier I'm using but I still use OS 5.03 if that might have any effect.I think the carriers in RSA is so overloaded with data traffic that the system can't support it fully yet so they "throttle" most of the users so the network can cope. I remember when BB just started to get big I got myself one somme a 8520 and transfer speeds on bbm was amazingly fast, for a while.. Vodacom* So as I said, it has to be all about the data traffic Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
