Hmmm... I previously had my FB account connected to my BB contacts, but had turned it off some time ago. I got the FB update notification from App World, and after updating 1.6 to 1.7, now those address book entries corresponding with FB friends are screwed up. The others seem fine. |

this new FB screwed up my entire phone...
i have the tour and installed OS 5.0 and i noticed that all my events on calendar don't show up on my Plazmic theme screen saver on my main page...
and now when i add events on my calendar, it will add as facebook, not my blackberry email.
Also on the old facebook version, my friends' birthdays on facebook would show up on my calendar, but after switching to the new facebook app, it no longer shows up.
this is so frustrating..

Check Options | Advanced Options | Default Services. These settings should not be Facebook, but your correct default email accounts... |

the new version looks a lot like the full version, which is wonderful.
i like how now, when a person comments on a picture on your album, it shows you which album that the person has left the comment in.
you can also hit the 'like' option from your phone, which you couldn't in previous versions.
i also like the whole which kind of status feeds you want to see.. the entire news feed, status updates etc. you can choose what kind of updates you want to see.
overall, the improvements have been really really drastic on this new version of fb. i give this a two thumbs up.

My only issue so far is that I would like to be able to permanently select "Status Updates" as the first screen that appears when I start the application. As it is, it comes up with "News Feed" by default, and I have to select "Status Updates" if I want to filter out all the junk I normally ignore when on Facebook online.
Other than that, I agree that this is a nice update with some features I had been waiting on for a while now.

Not sure if it is just my phone (8900 - Tmobile)
With FB 1.6 every time I opened the FB app it would automatically get new status messages.
With FB 1.7 it will get new statuses but if I close the app and open it again 2 minutes later it will not refresh. I have to go to Menu>Options>Clear Cache then go back to the main page then it will refresh.
This is frustrating. I have uninstalled and installed it again. I have done battery pulls and nothing.
Not sure if this is just happening to me.

I filtered out all the junk on the Desktop version.. so i don't get that on the BB on the news feed but yes, i would love to have the status update as *permanently* shown! it looks sharper though this new fb.. a lot *friendlier*

Just installed 1.7 only to find the exact same issues as I had with 1.6 (your login session has expired please login again - contacting facebook - could not connect because a data service is not available - repeat ad nauseam).
