I'd probably have to see you do it to tell you why it didn't work for you. I use it weekly to dial into my conference calls (I have to do it by name) and it works perfectly. Are you holding the alt key down when you tap the letters?

You have to hold it down WHILE tapping the keys? I was trying to figure out which keys corresponded w/ letters, and automatically popped up on the screen. I thought there was a way for such the keypad / letters would be displayed though following your instructions.

no, its not going to show you a keypad, what it will show is the letters with a little 'abc' and you'll hear the corresponding tone for each letter you press. you need to be holding the alt key when you press the letter. not hitting one then the other.
