I think about the technology magazines I read. With something like PC Magazine, I read it because (a) I get it free, (b) it's good to read when I'm in places where I'm not at the computer (on a train, on a plane, in the ummm... well... know you), (c) they have sufficient clout that they do get exclusives and advanced information quite often.
Your telling us that you don't surf the web in the john? Get with the times! I don't know about you, but my phones have data service.

It would be almost impossible to justify IMHO. There is so much information on the net and it is so fluid that by the time a magazine gets published the information in it will almost always be old compared to what is available Exclusive content is another thing. How much exclusive content will there be?

I agree with Squeff.

There is another old saying, "Too Late To The Party". There are so many outlets for this information in real time, that its going to be hard for a printed medium to be any more than a refresher of news for those that heavily frequent sites such as this one.

Well, if online is the only really good source for fast access to trusted, reliable information from people you know, I'll contact my pals at the newspapers, magazines, radio & TV networks and stations and tell them all to pack it up, pack it in and leave those channels free for rap concerts and cooking shows.

I like cooking shows. But just say no to rap.

You're right. Newspapers and Magazines (not sure why you included radio & TV since they are a real-time medium) are on the rise, that's why we are seeing so many layoffs and downsizing of major periodicals. And no one said "only good source", but sited those people that visit sites such as this, would not have as much benefit as those that do not take part in a real-time format on the subject of BBs.

Way to not take the dissenting opinions personally.

I too would subscribe. I would love to see some how-to sections, future developments, a little R&D sneak peek. Comparisons would also be cool.

I would subscribe. How to's would be good and articles on different devices and articles on future blackberry offerings.

I would definitely subscribe. Sure, I can get the information here or elsewhere, but at least in a magazine, I can read proper writing and not have to sift through the mounds of ROFLOL and YMMV responses. Besides, there are only a handful of people that write for any given magazine, and their careers depend on reporting correct information. On the internet, you don't really know if the information is accurate because you really don't know who is providing the information.

With magazines, newspapers, etc. you don't need to filter what you read. You just read.

Er... that being said, KiwiNed, who are you? I just looked at oceaniamediagroup and get a non-existant site with nothing more than a directory listing. Do you have any experience putting together a magazine?
