With the launch of the 8707v, it appears these themes may be available by the end of the month, maybe a week or so after (RIM is with typically slow on posting new software downloads after handset launches with various major carriers). Once they make the 8707v handheld software available for download, I'll have the Today themes available for download for those of you/us who aren't going to be using an 8707v (they should be included with the handheld when its released). I will edit the original post on this thread with the themes' download links.

Jibi,
Will the today themes be supported on 4.1.0.314 for 7100g OS or will we have to wait for another 7100x OS release for the today themes to be supported?

It will be a higher version (in the 4.1.0.36x range or so). The 7100 Today themes won't be available when the 8700 themes are, though.

Now THAT will be a reason to upgrade to Telstra.
Why must we wait 2-3 more weeks? Why? Why? Why?

So Jibi, if you will indulge me, I am trying to figure out how Dimension Today works. Three questions:
1. Since there is no SMS on the main screen but it is separate on the menu, do you have a homescreen icon showing how many unopened SMS messages you have?
2. If you have more than two unopened Emails does it then have a numeral for the number of unread (like Zen or Vodafone Today)?
3. If you have, say, three all-day appointments and two timed appointments in the current day, how does the Calendar field deal with that? It looks like it only shows two appointments.
Thanks in advance! Of course, feel free to just send me the theme and save yourself the trouble of answering.

1. No indicator on the home screen for SMS - only Emails. There is an indicator for each if you open Messages, though. Also, the only way to access SMS Messages is from the menu.
2. Yes. It reads: 'Messages (2 Unread). The envelope icon also has a red asterisk next to it when there are unread/unacknowledged messages, as well as a preview of the messages (up to 2) below 'Messages'.
3. You are correct - only handles two appointments (the first two scheduled). All-day appointments are apparently handled as lower-priority than specific appointments, so in your scenario, the first two specific appointments would show up in front of the three all-day appointments.

On the calendar topic, I have a daily appointment scheduled for the rest of the week. It shows in the calendar as being scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, etc. However, on the Today screen, it only shows 5/23 then 5/25, skipping Wednesday's appointment. If I remember, I will see if the 5/24 appointment shows up on the Today screen after tomorrow's appointment has passed.

Thank for the reply, jibi. The lack of notification for SMS is a strange quirk indeed (but not one that concerns me; no one sends me SMS). I'm guessing that since it shows up in the Messages app then it also shows up when locked. I could be wrong...
...which leads to the interesting question of what you see when the Dimension Today theme is locked? Still the Today information?...
I truly won't be offended if you don't keep answering these queries on minutiae because I'm going to be insatiably (and annoyingly) curious until I get my hands on this.

jibi, quick question about the Today screen. I didn't see a specific mention of this, but I may have overlooked it. Is the Today Screen a "replacement" for the Home Screen, or does it have to be accessed via a convienence key or something to that effect? I.e., if I hit/hold the Escape key from an app, does the BB come back to the Home Screen w/the icons, a la PocketDay or BBToday, or does it drop back to the Today Screen?

Does the Dimension Today theme separate SMS and Email inboxes like the Voda (and Zen) themes seem to
Great to see the first big airing of the Voda Today theme clearly showing the BB was running on T-Mobile. That screen shot certainly won't have come from Voda, then...
