Give us a sample from your list? And when you say, "yes the thing just kept vibrating till I actually turned it off". Does this mean it continually vibrated till you acknowledged it or can you set a reminder period like every 3 or 5 minutes give me a reminder alert?

Anyone know if we will get a free upgrade to 2.0 if we pay for the current version?

1. You set the timeout of the notification length i.e. 1,5,20 minutes or never.

2. Yes anyone who purchases version 1.0.x will get a free upgrade to 2.0.

Sorry to be so challenged but I still don't get it. If I set it to 20, will it notify me continually for 20 minutes or will it notify me every 20 minutes?

Default Not a user yet

Not a Notifire user yet, but that would have a big impact on whether or not I go that route.

Seems like a valid request.

Bummer Dawg.

I wonder if it keeps it in a file somewhere that could be restored using the advanced backup. You know just select the one file to copy back over.

Unfortunately BlackBerry Desktop manager doesn't backup 3rd party databases.

We will have a way to backup the notifire databases in version 2.0.

Is there any way to add our own tones to the library Notifire uses? I would like to use sounds not songs.

Just so you know the reason for my question, I sometimes leave my BB places like in the car (when I go to Church), in my locker when I work out, downstairs when I go to bed etc... I'm afraid that a continual alert would drain the battery and render my device useless or have somebody busting in my locker. If it gave a reminder chirp every 3 to 5 minutes then it would save battery, not draw as much attention to istelf and advise me that I have something that needs attention.

eradis, is this something they may be considered in a future release? I am sure more than I would appreciate something like this.

I have different profiles set up all my work contacts get turned off on friday at 3pm so I dont even get a notification on them my wife and a few other select people are the only ones that are set to always. In meeting I just get boss or owners emails. and so on and so forth wifes is the only one that is set to never stop and the led is set to blink backlight is set to light up vibrate and music. Currently you can specify the timeout of the audio notification (1,5,10,20 min). After that the pop-up is left on the screen, and when you next check your BB it is there.

Waynegs: 2.0 will give 7100 series users the ability to add there own MIDI files. Its a little more difficult for non-7100 series since it uses the buzzer for audio. I think we are trying to create a "composer" aspect for that. By that I mean you can compose your own "song" or "tone" and add them to the Notifire Music/Audio library.

eradis, as I stated in another tread I am a hard learner. I often don't get politically correct answers and so keep asking the same question. Me being in customer service should have known you are saying no in the so called customer service friendly way of saying it without using the word, NO. However, I still prefer direct. Can we put this to rest by you being direct and telling me either yes or no?

I like the fact that the popup will be left on the screen however, this calls for me to keep the BB on my mind so I will remember to check it periodically to see if the popup is there. I was hoping I can take it off my mind and have it audibly let me know if it needs attention. A chirp every 3 to 5 minutes means that as I move about normally, I will eventually notice it and know to check it. As you can see, this is important to me because I can get a page at anytime and need to respond timely. Is this possible?

If a "Hot Contact" emails you the notification will continue until there is some sort of interaction with the BlackBerry (thumbwheel roll, keyboard char pressed).

However it is not a intermittent notification (i.e. on/off ) but continual until you interact with your BlackBerry (or timesout depending on that setting).

Nevertheless a "intermittent" notification may be a feature in 2.0. Hopefully this answers your question.
