No, I did this over the cellular network with my BES server, never have to connect the phone to the PC.

This is the best phone I've had in the last year (had both the Treo 700w and Moto Q). Very stable compared to my previous 2 although it did reboot once running Rambler and hung once setting up BBWeather. I find the OS much faster than WM5, too bad I can't run SlingMobile. E-mail can't be beaten and voice calls are up to par with my Moto Q. Even on speakerphone my gf on the other end heard me loud and clear, she was surprised she was on speakerphone. Love this phone, too bad they don't make a lefty version, haha.

Why do you want to live in RI? Not that that's a bad place to be I love it. I mean we have the best politicians money can buy!!!! LOL but how would this benifit you with your BB?
You were the first person I saw to post that they had received the phone. I was thinking maybe it was something special about RI

Default How are voice calls?

I am currently out of contract on VZW and using a Moto E815, but want to move to the wonderful (and productive) world of Blackberry. How is the reception with the 8703e, is it on par with the E815? How do voice calls sound? I want to make the switch, but only want to carry one device and need good call quality and reception. Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated.

How so? Mine seems to be alright, although the platform thing seems to move a little slower. How did you get yours before the 18th?? LOL

so far..

It feels much more sturdy than the 7130e, it is much better made. LOVE the screen and the auto sensor. It seems faster than the 7130e as well....

Just received the RIM OEM leather case w/swivel clip for the 8700. The 8703e fits a BIT loosely. Not to thrilled but it does provide good protection when exposed on your belt better than the plastic clip. Sounds are very muffled because it covers the speaker.

Guess I'll wait for the new Lamb-skin 8700 leather case in October.

I've not yet received my 8703 so I cannot comment from direct experience; however, the 8703 has the same guts as the 7130 for which battery life was a major issue. I expect to see the same thing from the 8703.

Extended batteries for the 7130 have been in high demand!

Me too. I charged mine overnight Tuesday and still have 55% left. 40 minutes of calls and over 100 emails. Are you in 1XEV?

I charged mine overnight when I got mine. I take it out the charger around 7am and it's dying at about 5pm. Maybe it's because I use Rambler IM all day?

Default Synching new 8703

Tri tip's right.

If you're hosted on a BES, it can't be easier. Load Rim 4.1 software, connect the 8703, it asks if you want to associate this account with the (new) pin, click yes and it reassociates.

Unplug the berry from the USB, and it started wirelessly on the enterprise activation, loaded all old emails, contacts, tasks, I got everything except aftermarket programs I had on the old one.

By the way, the "classic Phone" ring is a lot louder than the ringer settings on the old 7750. Yeah, it's not sexy, but if you're half deaf, you just want to know if it's ringing.

Yeeha!

Default Free Games on mobile.BB.com

When I first got my 8703 I was able to d/l Texas HoldEm. Since then I have not been able to get to the free games. After the "I Accept" page, it either times out or give an error page "Games not available...."

Anyone else see this?
