Default Blackberry Professional Software

Please Login to Remove!

We are looking to get 5 blackberry phones, and verizon currently offers the blackberry professional software for free with 5 phones. My question is, can I install this on its own server and still integrate with exchange 2000? I don't want to install it on the same server.

Wirelessly posted (At&t curve)

That's actually the only way RIM will support it.

Everywhere I've read says it needs to be installed directly on the exchange server....

That's strange. I remember them always saying it had to nbe on a seperate server. I'll see if I can find it when I get to the office. Either way, it will work on a seperate server.

I had BES Pro on a seperate server 4.1.4

Worked fine. Also upgraded it to BES Enterprise with no issues.

You're confusing BPS with BES.
BES shouldn't be installed on the Exchange Server.
BPS was specifically designed to be installed on the Exchange Server.

but can it be installed on its own server? I realllllllly don't want something else running and integrating on the same exchange server.

Yes, it can be installed on a separate server. it does not need to be installed on the messaging server.
This is all explained in detail in the product documentation. Specifically, the getting started guide.

 to the blackberry master! 5 curves should be here next week, so just trying to research as much as possible because I know all the officers of the company are going to want customization, and i want stability.
