Hi i made the mistake of buying a BB 8700 off ebay on the orange uk network which is fine as my contract is with orange. Thats all i wanted was to use it for calls and emails but i cant seem to setup the email theres nothing there to do it. I went back to orange shop and they said if it is not the original sim card for that bb then it wont be able to use emails. Is this right as ive managed to install opera mini and browse the net so why cant i recieve emails?????

Any help or information on this would be hugely greatful.

Chris, welcome to the BBForums.

No, that is not correct. You can use your SIM from Orange.

You need to call Orange and ask them politely to remove the PIN from the previous account holder. Tell them just what you did, bought it used, and they should do so. They don't have to for you, so be nice.

Otherwise, the previous owner will need to do so.

You also need to add a BB data plan for BIS email access.

Okay ive got the BB data plan theyve sent an sms but i cant find out where to add my email settings. If i goto Setup wizard > Email setup then it alows me to choose 'i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server' But i dont have a server.

Any help would be greatful. Orange uk are useless at helping.

When you talked to Orange and added the BB Data Plan, they shoudl have set up BIS for you also. Maybe a call back to get the URL will work?

I need to connect my UK Orange Blackberry to a corporate BES in Spain. Orange tells me this is not possible/allowable? Can anyone tell me if this is correct, and if so, which UK service provider would allow me to connect to my company's BES. Any suggestions appreciated!

Am based in Bangalore, India, but our BES is located in Canada.
It should not actually matter where ever your BES is physically located, as long as you have a Enterprise or BES plan bought from your service provider (not BIS)!
