Default 8320 Shutdown Reboot During WiFi Connection!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,

Strange issue occuring with my Wifi connection to home router as it is the only connection that when connecting will shut down my BB and go through a lengthy reboot. Hot Spots Fine, office fine, home NOT!

Any advise BB gurus?

What kind of router? My Verizon supplied router would reboot my phone or the router would reboot.

My guess is you have an N router. The 8320 doesn't work well with N routers.

Yes its a new Nfiniti N router from Buffalo! Is there anything I can do? Could there be any upgrade coming to firmware or Software to fix?

Not sure. 8320 & N routers don't get along.

Old faithful (Linksys WRT54G) is what I recommend.

Actually the WRT54GS is a better router out of the box for UMA and is compatible with other firmwares like DD-WRT. If I ever replace my WRT54G, that's what I'm getting. The new versions of the WRT54G have issues with other firmwares and don't have the signal strength that the GS does.

I had heard that too. v4 or v5 WRT54G routers I have heard complaints about. I had the v3 WRT54G.

If I ever pick up a Wi-Fi enabled BB again (which I will) I will look in to the WRT54GS joint.

Mine is a v1.0. I have the power turned up with DD-WRT. When it fries I'll get the GS.

Have the same problem with a Belkin Wireless G+ router.
